The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progress Congress (APC) has disowned
former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala. The former Peoples Democratic Party
Governor on Tuesday
announced that he had joined the APC. The APC, however, described as shocking, the news of the former governor joining it because it is not aware. Olawale Sadare, the party’s Director of Publicity, who noted that the party does not know Alao-Akala said, "He is not in APC, however if he wants to join APC he is welcome. Let him join from the ward level. That is how it is done."
Alao-Akala, however said, some people in the ruling party were jittery because of his entry into the party. Alao-Akala who contested the 2015 Governorship elections on the platform of the Labour Party, speaking through his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Abraham Ojo, said he did not only join the APC in a more celebrated way, but directed all his followers to return to their local governments and wards to register.
